Epilogue 00:55

about

we were looking to play in the field
to make noise in our world.
in a city that was complicated and dirty,
like our music.
downtown offered the grit, the desperation, the isolation.
we slowly cruised with heads puncturing the sunroof, scanning, hoping
we wanted to explore exposure but not be seen
the sound would ricochet off of concrete walls
we turned on to a dead end road discovering a bridge
straddling the street.
the undercavity was plugged.
a modern hollow for nomads, like ourselves.
the headlights would illuminate us,
we settled in - our stage reeking of piss and road jizz
"an abandoned tire, of course"
this cavern was an urban amphitheater
we were troubadours
sonically suited to this place
grinning, we got down to it…
